Katarina Djolic
Academic (Junior)
Katarina is a year 3 student at Greenway Park Public School with a passion for public speaking. She won both the District and Regional finals at the NSW Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition this year. She is now in the State final in late October 2023 (one of the top 10 students out of approximately 10,000 that entered the competition). Katarina is also the class representative in the school Parliament.

Yousef Al Masri
Academic (Seniors)
As an all-rounder student with potential, Yousef has ranked overall 1st in all his subjects. Recently he was chosen to be a part of Western Sydney’s Fast Forward Program and ABCN Future Thinkers. Furthermore, he actively participates in a variety of different academic pursuits, including debating, public speaking and leadership.

Ciena Quintao
Community Service (Juniors)
Ciena is an advocate for people with disabilities and all varying abilities. She can relate as she herself is a person walking in those shoes as she has dyscalculia and dyslexia and falls on the spectrum as high functioning autism. She continues to advocate with numerous speeches in the community and hosting her own Hero’s TV show.

Logan Lemasu
Community Service (Seniors)
Logan was born with one hand but has never let this define her as an athlete. She plays Rugby union, Touch football and now league for Mounties this year. She is well known in the community as an inspiration to her peers and never hesitates to give of herself to make others happy. And just you all know, Logan was the girl referred to in Warren Morrison’s speech!

Emmanuel Sheen
Environmental
Emmanuel’s passion for environmental care has ignited a movement within his community as he actively participates in tree planting, clean up drives, and recycling education. His pivotal moment came when he was introduced to a bottle recycling program by EDMA, a local sustainability organisation. Emmanuel took charge, collecting bottles and cans, and in just five months, gathered over 550 items!

Juliana Makar
Fine Arts (Juniors)
Juliana is an extremely naturally talented and hard-working arts student who is always exploring new ways to seeing her surroundings through her art. She has a creative mind and all her ideas are out of the box rather than conforming to existing standards. She is a disciplined and focused young artist.

Maryana Abdo
Fine Arts (Seniors)
Maryana says that her most favourite things are drawing and painting. Fond of doing portraits, she uses Charcoal and pencil, prismacolor pencils, watercolour, or acrylic paint, depending on the subject and her mood! Maryana has won a number of awards for art, and most recently took part in the ‘Refill’ Program for the WOW festival in Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre.

Flynn Donnelly
Leadership (Juniors)
Flynn is a quiet but powerful leader. Even though he is only 9, he has been lucky enough to have been given leadership roles in the many sports that he plays. In 2022 he captained his under 10s Rep TBall team to win the NSW State Championships. Flynn leads by example and aims to get the best out of his team mates through encouragement. He was elected to represent his school as a member of the SRC.

Ashton Main
Leadership (Seniors)
Ashton is school captain at and is recognised by both his teachers and peers as a born leader who performs well both in academics and sport. He plays AFL and mentors the younger kids. He also referees Oztag and enjoys teaching younger kids how to play. Ashton also works part time at Flip Out as team leader and has received excellent feedback from customers, his peers and supervisors for his leadership qualities.

Joshua Clare
Outstanding Employee, Trainee or Vocational student
As an employee of Heroes With Ability for the last five months, Joshua been mentoring and coaching people with varying abilities to achieve their goals in sport. Joshua himself having a disability didn’t stop him pursuing his goals. He has inspired so many people and brings so much joy and happiness to all the participants in his activities. They feel lucky to have Joshua at HWA.

Diana Lu
Performing Arts (Juniors)
Diana won first place award for the Australian Chinese Recitation Competition for four consecutive years in both individual and group competitions. She also participated in the Ni Hao, Hello Madarin national recitation competition for three consecutive years and won the first place in each of them. This year, Diana was chosen to represent Sydney in the global recitation final and she achieved first place!

Audrey is the absolute Triple Threat. She sings, dances, acts, plays piano and can apparently even walk the full length of the stage on her hands! She has appeared both across Australia and Internationally with Entertainment Express, and was honoured to be given the role of young Fiona in a professional production of Shrek, the musical.

Eva Selevitch
Sports (Juniors)
Eva is a talented figure ice-skater who has represented New South Wales with 1st placing in technical and artistic figure skating competitions in Victoria and the ACT during 2022 and 2023. She is also supporting the 2023 Liverpool City Council Winter blast European Night Market with exhibition skating shows on the outdoor ice-rink. In addition to individual technical and artistic training and competitions, Eva competes in artistic pairs, Theatre on Ice, and weekly Development Squad program run by LCCISC.

Mak Vugdalic
Sports (Seniors Encouragement)
By just 18 years old, Mak is already 4 times Australian Champion in Olympic Sport Judo. Back in 2016, he was recognised as best junior boy in NSW by Judo NSW, several times NSW champion, and winner of many tournaments in NSW and across Australia. Recognised by Judo Australia in 2022 and selected to represent Australia in PanAmerican and Oceania Championship 2022 in Peru, Mak has been recognised as a potential future Olympian by the Daily Telegraph.

James Stabile
Sports (Seniors)
Commencing his sporting journey at the age of 7, James competed in the UKS indoor junior karting competition in which he achieved multiple podiums and win’s including club championship for several seasons. He then competed in Australian Karting placing top 5 in state titles and in 2020 won the junior performance kart championship. James is currently competing in the NSW Hyundai X3 Series and in a very short period, has achieved great results including race wins and a ninth place in the 2022 X3 championship out of 44 cars.

Aryan Narayan
Sports (Special Needs)
Suffering from cone rod dystrophy and legally blind, Aryan took to playing Goalball and is excelling in this with the dream to represent Australia in the Paralympics. In 2022 and 2023 Aryan represented All Saints Catholic College in the interschool Goalball competition – both these years his school won the finals. Last September, Aryan represented the NSW Waratahs in the NSW State Goalball Championships Junior Division in Sydney where once again his team won the finals. Aryan was given the Gold Medals in these comps!
