Elijah Bazzo-Reddy

With only 13 weeks of high school to date, Elijah currently holds 1st position in Science, Mathematics and French and is in the top 3 in all other subjects. He often requires the provision of an extra extension stream in the Learning Management System to cater to his keen interest and sense of inquiry. Elijah was awarded Dux of Robert Townson Public School 2021.

As a special needs child, Jayden has been benefiting from receiving tutoring and extra-curricular activities coaching to enable him to excel in his academic achievements. Libby got into volunteering with We Are Community after her dad died. Just before her 11th birthday, she held a fancy dress fundraiser at her school, raising $1305. Libby also volunteered to look after Tullie, a cat that belonged to a 65 year old cancer patient who was living in her car. Libby is a beautiful soul and is known to be unusually caring for her age.

Kyla Hodges

Kyla is an ambassador for Bravery Buddies, a charity that supplies companion dolls for children going through cancer treatment or have Alopecia. During lockdown 2021 she learnt to crochet making and selling worry worms totalling in sales of over $4000 for Bravery Buddies, earning her a Lockdown Hero Award from Rainbow Crossing & the Mayor of Campbelltown.

For one so young, Samantha’s passion and enthusiasm for the environment is impressive. She enjoys gardening, learning and putting into action the importance of waste recycling and sustainability. As a popular SRC member at St Andrew’s Public School, Samantha is at the forefront of her school’s Environment & Rubbish Removal Day.

Isabelle O’Toole
Fine Arts (Juniors)
Isabelle is a talented young artist who also enjoys writing stories. She is currently experimenting with a range of different artistry tools from the use of alcohol Ink, to painting with water paints, acrylic and metallic paints. Isabelle also enjoys designing her book week costumes and has won many awards for best dressed.

Kensi completed a lovely water colour within 5 minutes of her first art lesson. She has shown this to be an area of strength for her and pull away all the other invisible barriers she deals with on a daily basis. Ryder Proudfoot
Leadership (Juniors)
Ryder has worked hard over an 18 month period to achieve the highest award available for a Cub Scout – The Grey Wolf award at 1st Leumeah Cubs. He has designed and made a book library for his Scout hall which allows other scout members to bring in and borrow books at no charge. Ryder is currently sports captain for his house at Leumeah Public School.

Francis Bernasa
Leadership (Seniors)
School captain at Sarah Redfern High and a proud advocate for mental health, Francis created the immensely popular “The Peoples Podcast” to support other students with strategies to cope with lockdown. He has been recognised for his many extracurricular activities including public speaking, United Nations Youth Organisation, Interact Club, Rotary Club, SRC, Leader of the Generation STEM (CSIRO) project, Student Well-being Action Group Ambassador and the ABCN Program.

Dane Clark

Dane works at Poplar Tourist Park in Camden. During the recent floods he worked tirelessly around the clock helping the residents evacuate, packing up their belongings and being so compassionate with them. Dane Is also a 1st Year Apprentice with EagleBuild and is currently helping two residents build new flooring for their annexes – and has offered to help them build their homes back up to where they were!

Zahra Eva
Performing Arts (Individual Junior)
Zahra has been dancing since the age of 3and a half, studying 5 different styles of dancing at Steps 2 Stardom Performing Arts, has received top BAL grade results and is a scholarship winner for 2020. She was Best Junior Dancer last year. In April 2021 Zahra decided to change her passion for music from playing the clarinet to playing the piano and has been double promoted to do her Grade 2 Trinity College London exam!

Evelyn has been an exemplar student at Campbelltown Performing Arts, playing lead roles in school productions. She successfully auditioned for the State Drama Performance ‘Tales of the Wild Bush’ with NIDA, is part of the State Drama Ensemble, and has received nominations for her achievements in both regional and state drama performances.

Emma Hughes has been performing comedy since she was 14 years old. This year she represented NSW as the State Finalist for Class Clowns performing to a full house at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. In her spare time, Emma teaches children who cannot afford music lessons to play the guitar, ukelele and piano. She believes that everyone should have access to music.

Alex was prompt, on time every day, eager and willing to learn, showed great initiative and had a great attitude in her placement. Her overall attitude towards the work placement really stood out, along will her wiliness to learn she showed great dedication throughout the week. Alex fitted in very well with the other staff and richly deserves this recognition.

Eva Gawel
Sports (Juniors)
Eva’s achievements in athletics are exceptional. She holds the Little Athletics Region 7 Under 11 1500m record, PLC Sydney’s Junior 800m school record and recently broke the Campbelltown Little Athletics Under 13s 1500m record that has stood since 2003. Eva was recently selected to represent NSW at the Australian Little Athletics Championship and won the silver medal for the 1500m.

Kaitlyn Williams

Kaitlyn has been dedicated to surf lifesaving for over 7 years, earning many top 10 results. She has earned her place in multiple relay teams, but her main sporting highlight for this summer season was to gain an Australian title in her individual beach flags event on the Gold Coast in April. Kaitlyn also enjoys her other sport of Little Athletics, competing at state and national levels with some great outcomes.

Dominic Baker
Sports (Special Needs)
Dominic has had an extraordinary athletics season in 2022. But what makes his efforts in the last couple of months even more extraordinary, Dominic underwent major surgery on one of his legs in early November which involved being in a wheelchair for 6 weeks and not being able to run until early February. Dominic competes as a multi class athlete in the TF37 for athletics and cross country and broke the Little Athletics State record for Shot in the F37 U13-14 Boys category. He also is an active soccer player with his special needs soccer club Macarthur Magic.

Daniya Syed
Technology & Innovation
Daniya Syed is a student of Year 12, and has been participating in multiple Robotics Championships for past 6 years. She represented Australia internationally in Estonia, and Japan as a Lead Programmer and Technician. She is currently Western Sydney Young Woman of the Year 2021, and was the youngest female of Pakistani origin to qualify in the NSW Women of the Year Awards.
