Graduating as DUX from Glenfield Public in 2023 and serving as school captain, Niya won awards such as the Principal’s Award, Aussie of the Term and Celebration of Learning Award. Her passion for literature and storytelling earned her the Fisher Ghost Festival writing award in 2022 and 2023 and the Western Sydney Living Stories competition in 2023. Niya excels in debating, public speaking, and spelling bee competitions, representing her school at various levels.

Sakura completed her Higher School Certificate with a a Band 6 result in all units counting toward her ATAR (10 units of study).  She was awarded a Premier’s All Rounder Award for Academic Achievement.  At Macarthur Anglican School, she was awarded a Headmaster’s Award or a School Council Award for Academic Achievement each year. Sakura is also a very talented musician.

The podcast is run by young females sharing experiences and information with the community that are relatable and reliable. It aims to banish any stigma attached to topics such as period health, how to value yourself, or answer questions that are not commonly discussed.

Given that suffers with mild autism and severe anxiety, Laylani’s achievements are remarkable. She has been giving to her local community through her scouting, whether it be mentoring the younger sections every week, running the Hume Region Youth Council or volunteering to help Legacy hand out sprigs! In 7 years of scouting she has acheived the top levels in each section that she has entered!

Environmental Stewardship Achievement Award

10-year-old Harvey dedicates his weekends to help his parents treat wombats for sarcoptic mange. He is in charge of setting up infrared cameras to monitor wombats in the Macarthur and Wollondilly regions. Harvey then looks through hours of footage of the wombats, highlighting any that have mange. Harvey now gives talks at local schools to educate other children of the wombats’ plight and has raised money for WIRES.

Rylee has always been very interested in the environment and agriculture. He takes a special interest in cattle and astounded the judges at the Young Beef Cattle Judges Competition at Castle Hill Show. In a class of over 60 competitors, Rylee placed first for his prowess and presentation. The classrooms of Elderslie High School are festooned with winning ribbons, many of them Rylee’s!
